Next meeting: North Shore Fiddle Makers

For all those interested, our next set of meetings will be on Thursdays at the Jameson Hall, starting at 7:00 pm. "Curly" Smith has agreed to bring his latest creation and talk about the "best way to varnish". Mary has agreed to bring some coffee and baking.

Beautiful wood.

I've been looking at some nice, close-grained maple for my next fiddle. What is a reasonable price to pay? The fellow I talked to wants $500 for enough wood for two fiddles. I really want it but I don't want to get "taken for a ride."

Purfling?

What's the best source for purfling in BC? I've tried number of different products, but most of them simply split and don't glue in properly. Can anyone help me with this?

Stymied.
